2010 MBBA Spring Meet
Submitted by Wendy Bowles, MBBA Vice President

Now with the holidays behind us, it’s time to start thinking spring, beach and fishing.  We are on an uphill swing
now and it will be here before we know it!  The project dates will soon be announced and when they are finished,
it’s time for Spring Meet!!!  The dates this year are May 21, 22, 23 2010.  Mark your calendars and plan on
attending.  If you have attended in the past, you know how much fun it can be.  If you have never attended, you
don’t know what you are missing.  MBBA is 60 years old this year so we are going to try and plan something
special for the members to enjoy.  I am accepting volunteers, suggestions, critiques on the ’09 spring meet and
any new ideas at all.  No, they cannot all be implemented but all will be considered.  I have two things for
members to ponder.  If a special dinner is planned for Saturday night, would members mind purchasing the
meal.  It would maybe at most cost $10 per person.  Also, do you think you could find a few minutes to either call
me with a message or send me a quick e-mail, RSVP’ing on your attendance to Spring Meet?  It would greatly
help if I knew how many people would be attending, including kids.  It seems that the amount of kids attending
has lessened in the past few years.  It would be so helpful to have some sort of idea as to how many are
planning on attending. It makes it very difficult to plan food now knowing how many hungry members we will be
feeding.   We will have the usual casting contests, Smokey the Bear, awesome raffle tables and the always
enjoyable Saturday night dance with a DJ.  There are some new ideas being pondered which should be very
interesting.  We also have our annual meeting on Saturday afternoon at which time we ask members to take
one hour from their weekend schedule to attend. This is really not much to ask considering this your club. This
club belongs to you the members and this annual meeting is the time that you can show how proud you are to be
members by attending the meeting.  As always, I am only a phone call or e-mail away.  Please feel free to
contact me at anytime.
