The permit application for the Everill MacKay Derby has been approved by the Sandy Neck Park Manager, the
dates for this years Derby are Sept 19-21.
Sign in for the derby will be at the Sandy neck Gatehouse at the times listed below.

WELCOME TO THE ANNUAL EVERIL MACKAY FISHING DERBY
& WELCOME TO SANDY NECK BEACH
|
The following are the rules for the Fishing Derby:
Sign In will be held at the Gate House starting at 3PM-10PM on Friday of the derby & from 8AM - 10AM
on Saturday of the derby, after which CURRENT BEACH COSTS APPLY!
Only CURRENT MBBA & Affiliated Club Members with Identification will be allowed on the beach at no Cost at
the designated sign in times. We will not be siging up new members during this event!
You must display a MBBA MIRROR TAG AT ALL TIMES, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL BE CAUSE FOR
VIOLATION OR REMOVAL FROM THE BEACH.
Costs:
$10.00 per Adult 18 & older
$5.00 per Junior 17 & younger.
This allows for the use of two rods. An additional cost of $2.00 per additional rod per person regardless of age.

Largest Fish Will be presented the Everill MacKay Perpetual Trophy, with two tickets to the MBBA Fall Banquet
for formal presentation of the trophy.
Proceeds to be divided as follows after expenses, 40% to the MBBA, 40% Split among Winners and 20% to
the Town of Barnstable.
2. Only Beach ready vehicles will be allowed on Sandy Neck. IE: if you already have a current beach sticker from
another beach, or you have a 4wd or 2wd certified motor home with a MBBA or Affiliated Club Sticker.
NO 2WD Inspections will be DONE on this weekend.
3. Registration must be received prior to any entry in the derby. The derby starts at 5PM on Friday of the derby,
and ends 3PM Sharp on Sunday of the derby. ALL FISHING will be done EAST of TRAIL 4. A short award
ceremony will be held at a location near trail 4 starting at 4PM on Sunday. Everyone will be advised of that
location.
4. Winner is determined by length, with girth as a tiebreaker. Any Salt Water game fish IE: Striped Bass, Blue
Fish, Fluke, False Albacore, Weak Fish Etc. If no game fish are caught, then non game fish IE: Skate, Sea
Robin, Sand Shark etc. Longest Fish wins, IE: a 34" Blue fish beats a 28" Striped Bass
5. This is a SURF FISHING Derby only! No fishing from boats, or any other water craft is allowed. Fishing from
any other beach or any other part of Sandy Neck Beach is not allowed.
6. All Fish must meet State of Mass required minimum length to be kept, IE: 28" for Striped Bass, (in the past a
smaller non keeper fish has won the derby, record all fish of weigh in sheet with two witness's signature
regardless of size)
** ALL legal (KEEPER) fish entered must be kept until the award ceremony.
7. A Sandy Neck Tag and MBBA Mirror tag is required for all other non MBBA Participants.
